Canadian author.
Read by Terry Fallis.
A burnt-out political aide quits just before an election, but is forced to run a hopeless campaign on the way out, so he makes a deal with a crusty old Scot, Angus McLintock, to be the candidate. He figures there'll be no need to campaign as Angus will be certain to lose, but then a great scandal blows away his opponent. Angus decides to see what good an honest M.P. who doesn't care about being re-elected can do in Parliament. Winner of the 2008 Stephen Leacock Memorial Medal for Humour and the 2011 CBC Canada Reads programme. Strong language and descriptions of sex. Followed by "The high road" (DC40846).
